The Lux series was my first introduction to Jennifer Armentrout and I loved all of those books. I went back and forth on this one because I always have that worry about being disappointed when my expectations aren't met. Although it didn't quite reach the level of love I had for the Lux books, I did enjoy it.
This book was really fun to read and anyone who enjoys paranormal romance will have a good time with it. It is a quick read and can easily be finished in an afternoon if you have the time to spare. The characters are engaging and I grew to like them very quickly. Tink, the brownie who lives with Ivy, is definitely the comic relief of the story and had me laughing out loud on several occasions. He has this rough, sarcastic edge to him but you can easily tell that he cares about Ivy's well being. He was probably my favorite character in the story. The romance between Ivy and Ren was fine but I thought it was a bit too overpowering to the rest of the story. If you like a lot of romance between your characters, you'll like this. Personally, I would have preferred more be put into the storyline itself.
The plot is interesting and easy to understand. I was definitely able to predict what was going to happen but it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the story. It was a page turner and I was completely engaged throughout the entire book. Will I read the next book in the trilogy? Probably. I do want to see how all of the characters end up. I'll also read it just to see if all of my predictions are fairly correct, which I'm pretty sure they will be.
